Interact Club

Our students not only excel in academics, they also excel in giving back to the society from an early age.

Formation of the Club

The Interact Club of Assembly of Angels Secondary School was a magnum opus of our beloved Sir Late PP Rtn S.M.Zaki. He strongly believed in helping the people in need and had dedicated his life in social service from his
college days. He was an academician at heart and wanted his students to understand the problems faced by the underprivileged and extend their helping hand towards them. The Interact Club of our school was chattered on 26th March 2008 by PP Rtn Gautam Goswani of Rotary Club of Dumdum. Since then there was no looking back. Now under the guidance of our Principal ma’am, our Director Sohail Sir, the teachers and students continue to take up large number of long and short term projects and accomplish them successfully.

Long Term Projects

Tailoring Units in Berhampur, Murshidabad: Donated sewing machines to Swaruppur Education Trust and Rokiya Nari Unnayan Samity. Trained widows and distressed women, empowering them to earn a dignified livelihood. Tailoring Unit in Hajipur: Provided 5 sewing machines to Anjum Falahul Muslemeen Marwarikal. Trained 90 individuals annually, including young ladies, widows, and wives of jute mill workers, fostering self-sufficiency. Computer Training Center, Hazinagar: Established a center with 10 computers, offering computer literacy to children of jute mill workers. Benefiting 240 students annually, the program includes coaching classes, exams, and certificates. Free School – HAJI DR. S.M. ISHAQUE’S SCHOOL: Initiated by the Interact Club, this school in Barrackpore provides equal education to students coming from economically weaker section. Events like Annual Day and Art activities contribute to their holistic development. The Interact Club remains committed to the welfare of this school, started by the late PP Rtn S.M.Zaki.

Short Term Projects

Senior Care: Compassion in Action
Interactors visit Bholananda Giri Old Age Home and serve lunch. They spend quality time, sing songs, and serve a hearty meal, leaving a lasting impact.

Greening Our Campus: Tree Plantation Drive
In memory of Late Administrator Rtn SM Zaki, Interactors plant 20 saplings of Champa and Debdaru, enhancing our Barrackpore School and Ruiya School Campuses.

Cleaner Tomorrow: Anti-Pollution Rally
Interactors raise awareness on Air, Water, and Sound Pollution in Barrackpore through a rally and posters, striving for a healthier environment.

Community Outreach: Food and Medicine Distribution
Regular food drives at stations and our campus, distributing packets.On 25th December 60 packets containing puffed rice, ladoos, biscuits, oranges, bananas, cake, mosquito repellent sticks, match box and masks were distributed at Barrackpore Station is distributed at Barrackpore Station. Blanket and Shoes Distribution: Interactors distribute 65 blankets among Barrackpore Station platform dwellers on 25th December 2022. On 1st January,blankets are distributed to the inmates of Bachappan Boys Home.

Newspaper and Old Clothes Drive:
Our school conducts a biannual Old Newspaper Drive. The funds generated from selling newspapers support Interactors’ projects throughout the year. The Old Clothes Drive collects and distributes clothes to underprivileged people in Murshidabad and Sundarban.

Distribution of New Saris and Lungis:
Every year, the school campus distributes new sarees and lungis to various organizations. Sarees and lungis are distributed to the underprivileged in Barrackpore Cantonment, Murshidabad, Berhampur, Beldanga, and Sundarban areas.

Scouts and Guides

We embark on the journey of scouting from the early years, starting with Cubs and Bulbul training for our enthusiastic Class 1 students.

From annual camps to noteworthy achievements, our Scouts and Guides have consistently excelled. Numerous students have proudly received the prestigious Governor Award, a testament to their excellence in scouting. The roots of this movement trace back to the visionary Baden Powell. Join us in embracing the spirit of adventure and learning as we teach essential camping life skills like hiking, mapping, first aid, pioneering, and rock climbing.
